About the Role of Nursing Representative

The Nursing Faculty Representative is an elected nursing student at the Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA). The role has three primary responsibilities: representing nursing students at TWUSA, supporting student clubs, and facilitating community and academic excellence. At its core, this role aims to advocate for nursing students at the University level and to promote a strong nursing community.

The governing documents of TWUSA provide definition for all roles in the council. Representative roles are defined in the Bylaws.

Bylaws Section IV

Attend all meetings as outlined in Bylaw VI.
Assist the Director of Events in the operation of Student Association events.
Attend and participate actively in all SLO Week activities.
Submit all proposed activities through the University Events Approval Process and the Executive.
Carefully and responsibly administer the allocated budget.
Serve a minimum of one (1) Student Association Lounge shift each week.
Serve as a member of at least one (1) non-Student Association committee for the purposes of student representation and advocacy, as appointed by and at the discretion of the Executive.
Keep an ongoing, detailed log throughout the year to pass on to those elected as the successive Representatives. This log should include any challenges encountered, how these were overcome, and other comments regarding general execution of the role’s daily tasks.
Clear all outgoing TWUSA Council communication (advertisements, information etc.) with a member of the Director of Marketing before distribution and/or posting.
